Supporting Students, Families And Caregivers
Hawkswood School empowers students and families.
Our licensed clinical social worker supports students through individual and group counseling to address a wide variety of issues, including assisting students in understanding and appropriately coping with emotions, increasing body awareness, processing difficult events, and promoting self–advocacy. Everything we do here at Hawkswood is individualized and person centered.
In working with parents, our social worker helps to build a network of supports tailored to families’ individual needs including transition planning, connecting families with resources, parent education and crisis support. An on-going parent support group meets each month and we encourage networking among parents.
Our team of professionals can provide in-home training and support for families of our students with autism to help promote the generalization of skills from school to home
